J&T Recycling Corporation (President: Hiroyuki Haseba, Headquarters: Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture; hereinafter "J&T Recycling") and its group company, J Circular system Corporation (President: Ryuichi Okuno, Headquarters: Kawasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture; hereinafter "JCS"), have been commissioned by the City of Machida, Tokyo, to handle the transshipment, storage, transportation, and intermediate processing of used plastics (containers and packaging). Going forward, approximately 4,000 tonnes of used plastics (containers and packaging) per year will be processed by the J&TRecycling Group.
Used plastics (containers and packaging) generated in the City of Machida will be received by J&T Recycling at a stockyard within the city, then transported to JCS's "Kawasaki Super Sorting Center." JCS will subsequently carry out intermediate processing, after which the materials will be recycled by recyclers in accordance with the Act on Promotion of Resource Circulation for Plastics (hereinafter the "Plastics Resource Circulation Act").
In order to further advance resource circulation in the City of Machida, the J&T Recycling Group conducted extensive evaluations covering all stages from stockyard management to intermediate processing, thereby establishing an optimal integrated processing system.
Leveraging the integrated processing system established through this project, the J&T Recycling Group will continue to actively participate in recycling and recommercialization initiatives undertaken by local governments under the Plastics Resource Circulation Act at its major business bases nationwide, contributing to the realization of a Recycling-Based Society.
