Prime Delica Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "Prime Delica"), which develops and manufactures products sold at Seven-Eleven stores across 12 factories nationwide, Urban Energy Corporation (hereinafter "Urban Energy"), a retail electricity provider wholly owned by JFE Engineering Corporation, FUKUOKA Bio Food Recycling Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "FUKUOKA Bio Food Recycling"), a subsidiary of J&T Recycling Corporation which handles recycling business in the JFE Engineering Group, and Gaeadream Corp. (hereinafter "Gaeadream") have initiated efforts toward establishing a circular model for food and energy at Prime Delica's Munakata Factory (Fukutsu City, Fukuoka Prefecture) starting January 2026.

Food waste generated at the Munakata Factory is transported to FUKUOKA Bio Food Recycling through transportation coordination by Gaeadream, where it is transformed into electricity through biogas power generation using methane fermentation. Urban Energy purchases this electricity and supplies it to the Munakata Factory, thereby realizing a resource circulation loop. Furthermore, by implementing the "Zero Emission Plan®"*1 power plan, which utilizes non-fossil fuel certificates designated for renewable energy against the amount of electricity used, the facility achieves zero effective CO2 emissions.

Under its Sustainability 2030 Declaration, Prime Delica aims to reduce CO2 emissions by 50% by fiscal 2030 (compared to fiscal 2013). The "Electricity Creation Returning®"*2 initiative proposed by Urban Energy is positioned as an essential measure for achieving these goals and has been highly evaluated for its contribution to improving food recycling rates and achieving SDGs. Based on these results, plans are being developed to implement this system at other factories.

A plan that supplies effectively 100% renewable energy by combining the customer's entire electricity usage with non-fossil fuel certificates designated for renewable energy, achieving zero adjusted CO2 emission coefficient.
*2 "Electricity Creation Returning®"
A unique service offered by Urban Energy since 2017 that provides electricity rate discounts based on the amount of waste when power generated from waste is purchased and supplied to the facility where the waste originated.
